Voice with a capital V is everywhere in this. Sentence length. Noun choice. The rhythm and the nature of the asides. The knockout combo of humor and empathy that pulls me in every time. Reminding me that being brave, bold, and true isn't always about the narrative of dramatic or larger-than-life moments, but about the moments when we find our POV and Say The Thing... like this moment. Like this piece.

I took a break from berating myself on a piece I'm struggling with to read your newsletter. So I guess I needed to read your newsletter! I like the idea of "turning toward." Really good. Thank you.

Loved the humor of using one how to book to pull the author out of the others!! Also second the comment about the voice in this piece. It really pulled me in, felt like I was right next to the author. Just the creative encouragement i needed today. Bravo and thanks!!

What a great perspective shift piece. As always with creative things, it's not one way or the other, but both. Sometimes it's necessary to power through and other times more gentleness and patience is required. I think you're onto something with the idea of trusting yourself to know which path to take. It's a creative intuition that we can build bit by bit- knowing when to let something sit and when to keep going. Keep that newsletter/blog coming !

Hi Supernova Karen Joy Brown! So nice to get these insightful observations from you. Thank you thank you...it is not an either or, it is a both and. So True. Thanks for reading and commenting.

“learning to accept and appreciate my own tendencies - things like taking notes constantly, things like awkwardly observing someone’s gesture, or making a point to stop and stare so I can commit something to memo”

LOVE this! The list and that you shared these little details, yes. But also the actual actions themselves. I especially pictured you stopping and staring to commit to memory. Haha

I am a frequent list maker, and so happy this list resonated with you, Susmitha. I do sometimes stop in my tracks to watch someone, it can be awkward, but then I try to play it off… You too? Thank you for reading and commenting, it gives me so much encouragement.

This piece is a journey I needed to be on when it popped up in my inbox. So many laugh-out-loud moments with some head-nods that remind me that I'm not alone. "I also love when I read something in my google drive folder, and it is so good that I seriously doubt that I wrote it." A thousand times YES. The whole piece being about intuition was intuition itself as that's been a theme this week for me. Intuition, slowing down, noticing the little things that signal alignment. Love this piece, Chris!! Thank you!!

Oh thank you so much, I’m thrilled that the google drive familiarity thing is not “just me” - and that this piece had you LOLing. xoxo Thanks for reading and for commenting, it fuels my fire.
